The images in this show represent places I've been and things
I've seen throughout Pennsylvania during my photographic career.
From striking union workers (of which I was one) to beautiful
landscapes to coal breakers and trains, these images will remind
all of us of our home in Pennsylvania.
~ John Levandoski
John has been involved in photography for approximately 28 years.
From 1983 to 1997 he owned and operated Camera Pro Inc., a retail
camera store and studio. In 1997, he closed the store to concentrate
on fine art photography. John shows and sells his work at local
venues throughout northeast Pennsylvania and also at art festivals
in PA, NY and NJ. John is also part owner and curator of The
Highlands Photographic Gallery in Milford, PA.
John works primarily with a large format camera using traditional
b&w silver halide materials processed and printed by hand
in a wet darkroom. He counts Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, John
Sexton, Clyde Butcher and Steve Simmons as important influences.
"I like to photograph the people, places and things that
connect with our memories as Americans."
